Why would Sarah be humiliated if Ringer gets canceled? And why would she not work for years?
Response that inspired this question here.
“Humiliated” is more on a career standpoint than a personal one. “RingeR” has been promoted as the “Return of Sarah Michelle Gellar” as in “THE GREAT SMG IS BACK ON YOUR TV PEOPLE!!!” If the show doesn’t do well (which it isn’t), it’s on Sarah. Completely. You can’t even blame the writers because SMG has approval on that. If it gets cancelled in the first season, we’ll (we meaning the general public/critics and not fans) know it’s all because of Sarah. Either she can’t make good choices, doesn’t know how to run a show, or she’s that bad at acting. The show and Sarah Michelle Gellar are synonymous now, due to promo. It’s humiliating if she can’t keep a show on the air for a year and it will be her fault.
I doubt she would work for years because she has a daughter now. A daughter she loves spending time with. If there’s another child in the future, she’s not going to work because she prefers spending all of her time with her kids. This isn’t a bad thing. I said years, because she can work when Charlie’s in school. She didn’t work for years (barring “The Wonderful Malady’s” fiasco) after finding out she was pregnant after all.
